"Extended Life for our Class Website"

October 13th, 2017

Dear Classmates,

Thanks to the support and generosity of our classmates (not to mention the tight budgeting by our treasurer, Terry Burke), we finished up the 55th reunion project with an excess of funds that has enabled us to extend our website lease for an additional three years.  That means it will be available to you without any contributions on your part until May, 2023.  So if anyone is brave enough to tackle a 60 year reunion, the website and information it contains will be available as a unique planning tool.

We were also able to give the Richardson High School Principal a check for $200 in appreciation for his taking a huge chuck of his time on Saturday, Sept 30, to show several of our classmates around the halls of RHS as it now stands.  What a magnificient complex!  He will have the freedom to use the funds for whatever school endeavor he sees fit.

It has been my distinct pleasure to be the site administrator for the past 6 years and I will continue to do so as long as I am able.  But it surely would be nice to be working with my replacement while I can still remember things to be able to hand off the baton with no disruption in service.  Anyone interested???

So please continue to use the site to post pictures and stay in touch with one another.  My Home Page announcements will diminish considerably in number now that the reunion is past.  So don't think something is wrong if you don't see new ones on a regular basis.

Again, a special thanks to Beverly Prewitt Burke who orchestrated a Happy Birthday celebration for yours truly and to Ruth Ann Rennels Hendrick and Jim Keener who conspired to present me and Linda with a beautifully framed picture of a bald eagle in flight (see below).  What a surprise ending to an already memorable night.  It was truly a night to remember.
