Update on our survey regarding a school visit on the Saturday afternoon of our reunion weekend:

A special thanks to all of you who took the time to show your interest in taking a Saturday afternoon tour of the RHS Beltline Rd facility. Based on the positive response (28 out of 44 votes said "yes') from the respondents, I have already contacted the Principal of RHS and he is more than willing to meet us on the Saturday afternoon of our reunion weekend to conduct a tour. He said they have added quite a few state of the art opportunities that he is quite confident we will all be impressed with. More details to follow as we nail down the exact weekend.  (JHB 9/10/16)

Our 55th Class Reunion Survey:

A special "thank you" to the 93 classmates who took the time over the past few weeks to complete this short survey about our 55th class reunion in 2017.  The survey has now been closed and the results are summarized below:

Question:  How would you rate your interest in attending our 55th class reunion in 2017?

  • 46 said highly interested;
  • 34 said somewhat interested; and
  • 13 said no interest at all

Question: Assuming you are interested in attending, what is your preference as to the timing?  Excluding the 13 who had no interest in attending, the remaining 80 responded as follows;

  • 12 said the spring (May/June; and
  • 68 said the fall (Sept/Oct)

Question:  If we had the reunion in the fall, would you be interested in attending a RHS home football game on the Friday night before our Saturday reunion and sit together as a group?  Excluding the 13 who had no interest in attending, the remaining 80 responded as follows:

  • 47 said yes; and
  • 33 said no

So based on these responses, we will be planning a fall reunion and organizing a friday night football event for those interested in attending.  We will also plan for a Friday evening meet and greet for those not interested in attending the ball game and as a post game venue for those who go.

Since it will be a few months before the 2017 football schedule is published, we must wait to announce the weekend we will be shooting for.  Hopefully many of you will make a special effort to attend this third reunion in a span of five years.  For many of us, it may be our last best opportunity to do so.

As the planning gets more definitive in the coming months, we will begin to announce dates and set up a Registration link as we have in the past.  So stay tuned for more information on this important event.

Warmest regards,

John Buchanan
